Well here is a photo of the girls in China making the new table top pizza ovens- look how beautifully dressed the ladies are- I cant even manage style to drop Frankie to school- I am usually found in my active wear these days sadly!

So who is this lady behind Pipi's Bakery? My name is Gabrielle - I have a love of good food, wine,my family and friends and love socializing and travel. I am a crazy busy, highly organised person who likes to have everything in its place and neat and tidy all the time. Lets see if I can find a photo- not many of them- especially ones without a drink in my hand!

I have owned Pipi's Bakery since April 2017 - so how did I get to owning an artisan food company? I am actually a veterinarian and I used to own 5 small animal vet clinics based around the lower South Island- it was great I loved the business, clients, staff and the animals. It was super busy with lots of travel around the clinics, down side was there was lots of Afterhours call outs, emergencies, stress and I knew when Frankie started school it was going to be difficult to keep it all going- and look after my family. My husband is a very busy farmer so I could not ask home to give up the farm.

So the clinics were sold and I spent 18 months getting Frankie settled into school - which was great- I also learnt to ski and spent lots of time helping at the farm- it I felt like something was missing- my hobby, my passion is business and I found just keeping busy was not filling that gap- so I started the hunt for a business that I could be passionate about but still have me a good work life balance- I hear all the mums out there agreeing with me- hard to find a job or business where you can still attend sports days and do school pick ups- but I found it and guess what- marketing and selling flatbread is fun, I am learning heaps and I don't get emergencies! I thought this size would be handy for lunches, kids and snacks- let me know your thoughts. I find the current size of Pipi's Bakery bread great for dinner, but a bit big for lunch for Frankie or I- so I thought this size would be ideal- to pop into the toaster to have with soup in Winter or with toppings. I am investigating having 2 packs of 5 individually wrapped so you don't need to eat them all at the same time.

By the way I make my own soup in Winter, mostly. I cook a roast chicken for dinner- what we don't eat I put in a large saucepan, covered with water and boil for an hour- I then take out all the bones and cut up any large chicken pieces. I add a sachet of Soto Ayam - Indonesian chicken clear soup- or chicken stock to taste then add a tin of whole corn and noodles- boil it up again and store in the fridge or decant into freezer containers and pull out when needed- I always find having a few lunch options in the fridge or freezer helps me for buying my lunch, keeps me eating healthier and stops me snacking during the day.

Duck shooting opening season- men went out, but not much luck -so dinner was provided by Pipi's! Great way to feed lots of people!

Today's sunset was amazing - this is the view while chasing sheep at the farm- our sheep have no respect for fences! The other great thing that happened today is Pipi's became available in Ashburton- yeah!

My vegetarian friend made this for our dinner the other night- it looks great and tasted so good- I ended up stuck in Wellington with fog closing the airport- as all flights were stuck there was no accommodation available so I was very lucky to have friends there who were more than happy to take me in with my Pipi's Bakery bread in hand

For anyone who knows these three little raskles they will know they love sweet things and have so much fun together with any activity- but the stickier the better.- My only problem was I could not stop eating it- and I don't usually like sweet things- I save my calories for cheese, chips and wine! But I made an exception this time and enjoyed the taste experience
